2017 marked the 150th anniversary of the dedication of the “Railwayman’s  Church”, Christ Church, on 1st May 1867 and also the 175th anniversary of the coming of the railway to Ashford.

In 2016 Christ Church became part  of the Anglican Parish of Ashford Town, within the Deanery of Ashford, the Archdeaconry of Ashford, and the Diocese of Canterbury, Kent, England.
